Student Programs (Grades 6-12) The goal of Westside Youth ministry is to call students to SURRENDER their lives to God, EXPRESS God’s love to others, RADIATE God’s light to the community, VERIFY their faith through studying, and ENJOY learning about God in the company of believing friends.
Program: Purpose: Evangelism Target: All students grades 5-12 Days/Times/Dates: Wednesdays, Select Sundays, 12:00-5:00 PM (September-June; see separate schedule) Ministry Leader: Steve Olson, (218) 927-2728 ext 4# Description: Come, hang out and enjoy the facilities of our gym and two “Rec Rooms”.
Program: Big Events Purpose: Evangelism Target: Students grades 5-12 (depends on a particular event) Days/Times/Dates: Various days and times throughout the year Ministry Leader & contact info: Craig Morris, (218) 927-2728 ext 2# Description: Experience a time of fun coupled with the truth of God’s love. A great place for students to hear about Jesus and bring their friends!
Program: Youth Group Purpose: Evangelism Target: All students grades 6-12 Days/Times/Dates: Wednesday Nights, 7:00-9:00 PM (September-May, food provided after school-5:30PM) Ministry Leader & contact info: Craig Morris, (218) 927-2728 ext 2# Description: A fun place for students of all spiritual levels to come together and explore God’s love for them.
Program: Small Groups (Grades 6-12) Purpose: Fellowship Target: Students who want an intimate group that cares for them and challenges them to grow in their faith. Days/Times/Dates: Various, depending on the group (September-May) Ministry Leader & contact info: Craig Morris, (218) 927-2728 ext 2# Description: Students have an opportunity to dig into God’s Word and explore practical ways to apply their faith to their everyday lives.
Program: Bible Quizzing Purpose: Fellowship Target: Students who want to memorize God’s Word, grades 3-12 Days/Times/Dates: Select Sundays, September-April (see separate schedule) Ministry Leader & contact info: Craig Morris, (218) 927-2728 ext 2# Description: Bible quizzing provides a fun, competitive way to encourage students to get into memorizing the Bible. Each year, New Testament material is chosen and students work together to cover the material to compete locally, and eventually, nationally.
Program: Ministry Teams Purpose: Ministry Target: Students who want to serve others, grades 6-12 Days/Times/Dates: Various, depending on a particular ministry team’s needs Ministry Leader & contact info: Craig Morris, (218) 927-2728 ext 2# Description: We believe that students are valuable in the church right now and their spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences can be used to serve others. The list of ministry teams is growing as adult leaders step up. |
